Block of the Month's

WinterFresh

We're starting a new BOM this fall, called Winterfresh. Designed by Next Step Quilt Designs of Calgary, this 98" x 98" quilt has a large shadow star in the middle, and a variety of sizes of stars twinkling in and about. We'll meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month, starting September 14. Potluck supper at 5:30 and evening class from 6:30 - 9:30 pm. Previous unfinished BOM's are welcome; you need to get them finished to enjoy them!

BCS Mystery Quilt Club

Quilter's Romance

We are pleased to introduce our new mystery project which started in early October and will be available for pick up 2nd wdnesday of each month after that, finishing next year. Mail outs are possible; we will charge an extra $5 at registration to help cover postage costs. We can still get you started, so call for more details.

Embrace Your Bernina

Learn to use the features of your machine to create wonderful gifts. Decorative stiches, applique, and embroidery are all covered in these classes. We will start with the clutch, and you can choose which project we make next. It's all about helping you use and enjoy your machine.

Vintage Quilts Display

Inspired by Martha Lynn's vintage truck show, we have chosen several of our favorites, including Chain Link and Golden Wedding Ring, and have them on display for your pleasure., so come in for a peek. We have lots of patterns to choose from, so ask how to make your own favorite.

Basic Machine Maintenance

Al will have you taking apart your machine, cleaning in places you didn't know needed it, and oiling in the right spots. Discussions on when to clean & how often to change needles. A must take class!

Hand Applique

Explore the excitement of hand applique' with Monica, who learned applique' from Kathy Dunigan, and furthered her knowledge in classses with Eli Sienkiewicz. You will be making a simple project to start, with several different applique' techniques. We will be looking at embellishments of threads, ribbons, and beads to further excite you.

It's Elementary

Join us for our "Quilting Primer" - the course to teach you the basics and springboard you on to new heights in quilting annd sewing! No experience necessary! Learn how to choose colours, use your cutting tools, prepare fabric, sew a 1/4" seam, piece blocks, applique', border, quilt, and bind! It sounds like a lot but it's only the beginning!!!
